Process and cooling water

Water is used in almost every company, be this as a coolant, process agent, solvent, or as a means of transport. These applications are known collectively as process water.

In general, drinking water is not used for industrial processes, but ‘cheaper’ kinds of water such as ground water or surface water are used instead.

Apart from ground water and surface water, ‘grey’ or ‘E’ water is also used. This is the partially pre-purified surface, or rainwater, produced by water companies.
